As in few days I am leaving to NY, we decided with my friend to go to “Quirinale” for drinks and dinner, for old times’ sake…

It used to be my hangout, and I was there at least 3 times a week in the past, but then I stopped going that much… and all the bar crew that I knew left for better offers and the cook left to Luigia restaurant . So to be honest I was curious to see how it would be the new Quirinale.

We didn’t reserve, as we wanted to sit at the bar. When we arrived at 8pm, they told us that the bar was fully booked… for dinner. Because new policy, you can have dinner only on left side of the bar, while across you, on the right side people can only drink and watch you eating…
Just to wonder, what do you do when you finish eating? Do you need to book another spot across the bar for drinks????

Anyway, so instead us sitting us on the other side where it was empty, they disturbed all the eating side and asked them to squeeze, so they could fit us, and not take off the few reserved spots. By the way, later I saw some people eating on the drink side!!! Maybe I should report to the police…

The new bar stuff is very nice, although you can see they are new, cause they feel obliged to follow the rules!!! When we had the menus, we noticed that the carpaccio that people were eating next to us was missing. So we asked what was not on the menu? And they gave us such a big list that they could do another whole menu…
If someone knows why, please report it to me…

The carpaccio was good, and we were full after… so we skipped to share a pizza and ordered a chocolate fondant…. Imagine a big plate divided in four, each square has a different thing… The components are: a mini… I can even say micro chocolate cake, a vanilla ice cream, chocolate bites and cranberries…
The plate was beautiful, but let me tell you the chocolate cake was too good, to have only one piece; they should put four instead of one, and let the customer enjoy the chocolate coma…

So I have to say the “new” Quirinale is not bad, food is good, service is good… they should just check their rules, cause they are ridiculous.

The crowd? Well first of all, I have to say that it is the best meat market of Geneva, everybody checks everybody out… it is very funny actually, because nobody dares to talk to nobody… so it is a singles bar, good for hunting, with very incapable hunters… In a way, thank God cause when I say single, I don’t mention the age, I wouldn’t know what to say if the ugly old man would have tried to talk to me… beurk!!!

So to sum it up, I think it is place to go, you can eat either at the restaurant or at the bar, have drinks, and after dinner there is a DJ, and you can even dance… And the crowd is not composed of 18 somethings, you have older crowd… even though sometimes they are too old to be there ;)
