Woke up this morning, happy to be back to a sunny Geneva, which is rarely the case… As it has been a while that I am rarely home, had to do the boring stuff, like invoices, grocery shopping etc… But I had to catch up with friends as well. So decide to have lunch with “wifey”. She is my high school friend that I know for 25 years now. We studied and lived in Pensionnat Valmont, Lausanne. It is a school where the Marcelline Sisters devoted themselves to the education of young women, in other words, a girl’s boarding school governed by the nuns, with so many restrictions that we end up … well we end up like me, free spirited. So my friend that I call wifey was there as well, and she did her part of globetrotting and we end up both in Geneva… no need to add which kind of special bond we have.
So as we both keep traveling, we try to catch up whenever we are both in town. And this time we decided to go to “l’Armoire” (literally means the closet) for healthy food. Although last time we had lunch there, we both had burgers with fries. L’Armoire is a restaurant that opened in Geneva for few years now. The food is always quite decent, and what I like about is that, beside the familiar faces I always see there, while waiting for your food you can read little inscriptions on the walls about funny citations. The lunch crowd is a mix of business people and ladies catching up, and the dinner crowd is composed of the usual suspects, getting ready for a long night out. They have a little terrace which is literally on the street, so it is nice to be out but if you sit at the edge you basically inhale all the cars smoke and survive through the roads dust. I prefer the tables near the sidewalk where it is a little healthier. So we sat on our table, I ordered a beef tartare, and wifey took a seafood ceviche. It was a good food, great company, and not overpriced like most of Geneva restaurants. So I highly advise to give a chance if you r in town and not looking for the perfect terrace.
After lunch I went and did some shopping, because all the private sales started, girlzz and boyzz, get ready in Geneva the sales has started as well. And I am the proud parent of two new Lesputains (Louboutin) for the ones who read me the first time) …
and now so happy to be home and chill. You know me; never go out at nights on the week-ends :)

Last night I went with a friend to the terrace opening of Hotel Le Richemond in Geneva. At the beginning I thought they were opening a new terrace and was really wondering where it could be, as although the hotel is beautiful, it doesn’t have that kind of space.
And off course with my luck it was pouring outside….The hotel has a valet parking, but only for expensive cars. And as they refused my little Fiat Panda last year, they lost me as a client, and normally I never go there.
Last night wanted to give another chance, and also was quite curious to see the opening of a terrace under the rain.
After struggling for a parking spot we arrived at the hotel. The Terrace opening was obviously happening indoors, and the “Terrace” is actually the little patio of the restaurant where they put normally 3 tables. They just organize this drink, to announce the summer, and the BIG opening of their terrace, which is between us smaller than my terrace at home.
The minute that we entered two people asked us if we would like to coat check and a third one offered us a drink, then we started to circulate sipping our bubbles, tasted few appetizers walking around. For me the hit was “the filet de boeuf” bite with Bearnaise sauce (unfortunately saw it only once).
The crowd was different than usual Geneva crowd, I actually believe that these people were there because they were the hotel clients, and wanted to make connections and not the usual crowd who enters because they see the light and they want free booze and food.
When we finally decided to leave, two ladies who were behind a flower stand, gave us a little bag with red and white paeonies, which was a nice touch.
I really liked the welcome and the good bye, made few connections, so it was a good night after all. I guess Le Richemond really wanted to announce the summer; it is just the Geneva forecast which was against it…

This morning when I woke up, I still had the wine, sake and vodka in my blood… Thanks god didn’t have too many appointments. I spent my day between rain and sunshine walking in the streets of Milan, trying to finish my errands. I walked so much that at the end of the day I couldn’t feel my feet. But everybody knows how retail therapy can make you feel better.
When I returned to my shoe box at Hotel Cavour, I kept trying to reach Malpensa for my suitcases, and finally at 5pm they announced me that it would arrive to my hotel that night around 10 – 11pm.
Well I guess another night where I should do creative clothing with what I have and what I have purchased. My friend brought me to this bar for aperitivo called Blanco, which is situated in Porta Venezia. I always say that I love the Milanese aperetivo, because next to your drinks they always bring you food to nibble. When we arrived it was quite empty, but while we were sipping our bubbles and eating the yummy appetizers, it started to fill up a lot. The crowd was composed a bit of everything; cute boys and girls, good music and very good vibe. You could find casually dressed up people just chilling out as well as the ones who spent hours in front of the mirror and who couldn’t enjoy their drink simply because they needed to know if someone was looking at them.
Overall it was fun, but we had to leave as we had dinner reservation at Osteria Del Corso in Brera. It is known to be a who’s who restaurant, so with my Milan luck I was sure I would see another football player… we all know that the real celebrities in Milan are the models, and the football players. Although my friends explained me that it would be the usual crowd. Tonight we just saw Piero Chiambretti, who is a famous anchor for the midnight Chiambretti show. Otherwise there were big groups of women and men. And with our luck we had the most annoying voice sitting next to us. She couldn’t stop talking, and it sounded like nails going down a board, you know that horrible voice… But even that annoying voice didn’t ruin my dinner. I had an amazing swordfish Carpaccio followed by a finger licking spaghetti with lobster, all this with a great wine and company. I really advise you to go there and enjoy a good meal. The working stuff and the owner are amazing as well.
My second day was less stressful and the fact that I received my luggage helped it. It was at 11.30pm, just in time to take it back with me to Geneva for Friday my morning train. Yes train, nothing would make me take that Twin Jet plane again, which could be described as Bermuda triangle for luggage, and/or fear box!!!!

Every Wednesday and Saturday at specific places in Geneva you have the market. All the farmers around Geneva bring their fresh products, and it is full of fruits, vegetables, flowers and other products.
You can be sure to have big traffic, because the biggest one is in city center at Rive, where normally there is a big circulation.
The place is packed with who’s who…. from restaurant owners, to housewives, passing by families who do their Saturday outing. Everybody has a fancy bag, (it is Geneva after all) so they can put their purchases. Again you have to be dressed correctly, because you are sure to see someone you know, and in Geneva it is a crime to leave the house without a decent outfit and make up. You risk being outcasted…
The nice thing is that you have several coffees around, where after your shopping you can sit and enjoy the day.
Normally my mom and sister go together to the market on Saturdays, as she is stuck in New York because of the Volcano ashes, I went with my mom. Once our shopping done, we decided to go to a nice terrace for lunch.
We went to Le Cottage, it is on the other side of the bridge, but has such a nice terrace and food that it is worth it. At nights their menu is composed with Mediterranean tapas or mezzes or antipasti… While you eat the delicious food, you can taste different wines.
At lunch they have a smaller menu, no tapas to share, just few appetizers and few main courses, but a huge desert list with artisanal ice creams.
One of the biggest complaints about that restaurant is the service; it is known to be very slow… I found the stuff nice and not that slow.
After all, I had a great lunch under the sun with my mom, who even tried the ice cream with orange and saffron…
But next time, maybe I will go there for dinner instead of lunch, cause I prefer from far the menu; and if I want to enjoy their terrace during the day, would have coffee or tea…

All my friends know that I am a shoe addict, when I see a pair that I love, I need to have them, and sometimes I am ashamed of the price that I put in shoes. Once of my bosses in the past even proposed me to pay with shoes instead of money. What can I say some people invest in property, I invest in shoes…

I have purchased my first Louboutin, couple of years ago when I first created my company in NY to congratulate myself… I had to have one, because I thought it was very sexy wearing those red sole pumps.
You have to understand, wearing a Louboutin is not that easy, you have to have very thin toes, otherwise you might need to cut your fourth finger. At the beginning, I remember having tears in my eyes cause I wanted to keep them all night long.
But with time you learn, some put some Vaseline in their toes (be careful to not put too much cause you risk the fly), my trick is to buy a size bigger to have more space in the front, and believe it or not train myself to wear them. And it works; now I have several “les putains” as I call them and they are among my most comfy shoes.

When I moved back to Geneva, I was very sad, because there was only one store selling them but only basics that I already owned, so I needed to travel again to buy them.
But good news Geneva, since December, Geneva has its own Louboutin store…
I have tried to be strong and not go to the store, but today I had to go… come on, I just came from detox and lost weight, and when some people buy clothes to celebrate that, I need to buy shoes ;)
So after lunch I went to their store in rue du Rhone (which is our Via Montenapoleone, or our Madisson Avenue). It is a beautiful store on two levels, I highly advise to check upstairs as well, the working staff is very helpful and sweet. And the most important, they have a great selection, and they have sizes.
While I was trying my future adopted kids, the store was very busy. And almost everyone was leaving with at least one pair of “les putains”.
I guess the crisis is not touching the sexy red sole pumps in Geneva!!!!
